One destiny – many futures
“My parents died during the Rwandan genocide against tutsi of 1994. I ended up living on the streets, struggling to survive. Then one day, I was given a bicycle. That day changed my life. Now it’s my turn to give something back. By sharing our love of cycling, we can build a great future for our children.”
Florent Nsengumuremyi, TWIN Lake cycling academy

About COBCAL
In autumn 2024, during the RWANDAN EPIC, a team of filmmakers followed the journey of young mountain bike athlete Banzi Bukhar, student Nadine Keza, and Florent Nsengumuremyi, founder of the Twin Lakes Cycling Academy.
The Story
Like many others, Florent lost almost his entire family during the genocide against tutsi in Rwanda of 1994. While living on the streets, he met an aid worker who became his "angel" and gave him a bicycle. This moment changed his life. It enabled him to go back to school, make friends, and empower himself. He then decided to give back. How did he do it? You will see.
